ABOUT
THE CLASSES
Music classes are a great way for young learners to develop their fine motor, gross motor, communication, and social/emotional skills. Each class will include a variety of sung and played repertoire, instrument exploration, and small and large movement activities, all while giving children a solid foundation for a lifetime of music making. With their peers and parents/caregivers, students will:
Sing fun and age appropriate songs and rhymes
Develop listening skills
Learn basic music concepts
Play percussion instruments
Combine movement and dance with music
THE TEACHER
Sarah Henrich is a choral educator who moved to Knoxville from Wisconsin in 2018. In Milwaukee, she worked with a team of educators at The Wisconsin Conservatory of Music, teaching early childhood classes, general music classes, voice lessons, and directing choirs in Milwaukee’s schools. In Knoxville, she works as a worship coordinator, private teacher, and musician. Sarah is an advocate for music education for all students and believes that music helps children to grow in their self-expression and creativity, as well as supports cognitive, physical, and social/emotional development.
